Amish Vanilla Pie

Filling:
1/2 c. Brown Sugar
1/2 c. Light Corn Syrup
1 Tbsp. Flour
1 Egg, beaten
1 c. Water
1 tsp. Vanilla
Combine all filling ingredients into saucepan.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens, about 15 minutes.
Pour filling into pie shell.
Sprinkle crumb topping over filling.
Bake 40-45 minutes at 375°F.
Crumb Topping:
1 c. Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 c. Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp. Soda
1/4 c. Shortening
Using a pastry blender combine all topping ingredients until crumbly.
