1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1/4 tsp. Salt
3/4 c. Granulated Sugar
1 c. Shortening
1 Egg
1 Tbsp. Anise Seed
1/4 c. Brandy
1/4 c. Granulated Sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon
Mix together flour, baking powder and salt.
Set aside.
In mixing bowl cream 3/4 cup granulated sugar, shortening, egg and anise seed.
Gradually add flour mixture alternating with brandy.
Mix until soft dough forms.
Cover and chill dough 15 minutes.
In a small dish combine 1/4 cup granulated sugar and cinnamon.
On a floured surface roll dough to 1/4″ thickness.
Using flower shaped or assorted cookie cutters, cut into desired shapes.
Place on parchment lined cookie sheets.
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.
Bake 9-10 minutes at 350°.
