Cherry Pie Bars

1 c. Butter
4 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
3 c. Flour
1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Salt
20 oz. Can Cherry Pie Filling
Cream sugar and butter.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Mix together flour, baking powder and salt.
Add to creamed mixture.
Spread half of batter into a greased 9″ x 13″ pan.
Spread pie filling on top of batter.
Drop remaining half of batter on top of cherries using a teaspoon.
Bake 35-40 minutes at 325°F.
Drizzle frosting over top, let cool and cut into bars.
Frosting:
1/3 c. Granulated Sugar
1/4 c. Butter or Margarine
1/4 c. Milk
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
Combine ingredients in saucepan and boil 2 minutes.
Cool slightly before drizzling over bars.
