
Date Nut Blondies

1 1/4 c. Brown Sugar
1/2 c. Butter, softened
2 Eggs
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2 c. Flour
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 c. Chopped dates
1/2 c. Pecans, chopped
In mixing bowl cream together brown sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Mix in flour, baking powder and salt.
Stir in dates and nuts.
Spread in greased 9″ x 13″ pan.
Bake 25-28 minutes at 350°F.
Spread topping evenly over top of blondies.
Place under oven broiler 4″ from element.
Broil 1-2 minutes until bubbly.
Cool and cut into bars.
Topping:
1/2 c. Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp. Butter, melted
2 Tbsp. Corn Syrup
2 Tbsp. Milk
1 c. Coconut
1/2 c. Pecans, chopped
In small mixing bowl combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and milk.
Stir in coconut and nuts just before spreading on blondies.
