
10 Slices French Bread, toasted
2 Tart Apples, peeled and sliced
3 c. Cheddar Cheese, grated
Cut toasted bread into cubes and place in buttered 9″ x 13″ pan.
Place apple slices on top of bread cubes.
Scatter cheese over top of apples.
Pour syrup over top and cover with foil.
Bake 20 minutes at 350°F.
Remove foil and bake an additional 5 minutes.
Serve warm or cold with or without whipped cream.
Syrup:
3 c. Water
1 1/2 c. Brown Sugar
1/3 c. Butter
1 tsp. Allspice
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Nutmeg
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 c. Raisins
Bring to a boil the water, brown sugar, butter and spices.
Remove from heat.
Add vanilla and raisins.
Let sit 5 minutes before proceeding above.
