1/2 c. Shortening, melted
2 Eggs
1 c. Buttermilk
1 c. Sour Cream
1 tsp. Vanilla
4 c. Flour
1 tsp. Soda
1 tsp. Baking Powder
Cream together sugar and shortening.
Add eggs one at a time, beat thoroughly.
Add buttermilk, sour cream and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients, mix well.
Chill dough.
Remove dough by teaspoonfuls and shape into long thin rolls using fingertips on a floured surface, about 6″ in lengeth.
On a parchment lined cookie sheet shape roll of dough into a pretzel shape. Repeat for remaining cookies.
Bake 8-10 minutes at 450°F. or until kringlas are lightly browned.
Remove to cooling rack. Cover with towel and cool completely.
Store in an airtight container.
Makes about 4 doz.
