Meringue Kisses

1/8 tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. Cream of Tartar
1 tsp. Vanilla
3/4 c. Granulated Sugar
In a large glass or stainless bowl (not plastic) using an electric mixer beat together egg whites, salt, cream of tartar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
Gradually add sugar 1 Tbsp. at a time.
Continue beating until stiff peaks form.
Spoon meringue into a large decorating bag fitted with a star tip.
Pipe stars of meringue onto parchment lined cookie sheets.
Bake 25 minutes at 300°F.
Let cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet.
Optional: For pastel colored kisses add a couple drops of food coloring to meringue before baking.
