Mexican Crinklers

1 c. Granulated Sugar
1 Egg
1/4 c. Light Corn Syrup
2-1 oz. Squares Unsweetened Chocolate, melted
1 3/4 c. Flour
2 tsp. Baking Soda
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 c. Granulated Sugar, for dipping
Cream together shortening, sugar and eggs.
Stir in corn syrup and chocolate.
Mix in flour, soda, salt and cinnamon.
Make a stiff dough, shape into 1″ balls.
Roll in sugar.
Place on parchment lined cookie sheet.
Bake 15 minutes at 350°F.
Let stand a few minutes before transferring to cooling rack.
