
1 c. Granulated Sugar
1/2 c. Butter
2 oz. Unsweetened Chocolate Squares
1/2 c. Flour
2 Eggs
1 c. Walnuts or Pecans, chopped
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/8 tsp. Salt
Melt together over low heat the butter and chocolate.
Pour into a bowl.
Add remaining ingredients, stir well.
Spray two 8″ layer pans with cooking spray.
Line bottom of pans with waxed paper and coat with cooking spray.
Divide batter between pans.
Bake 20-25 minutes at 350°F
Let cool on wire rack for 5 minutes before removing.
Place one layer on serving plate.
Spread whipped cream filling between and on top of layers.
Garnish with chocolate shavings.
Chill 1-2 hours before serving.
Filling:
1 1/2 c. Whipping Cream
1 Tbsp. Instant Coffee Crystals
1/4 c. Powdered Sugar
Beat together whipping cream and coffee granules until foamy.
Gradually add sugar.
Continue beating until stiff peaks form.
