
Cake:
1/2 c. Shortening
1 c. Water
2 Eggs
2 Tbsp. Molasses
1 c. Brown Sugar
1/2 c. Granulated Sugar
1 1/2 c. Flour
1 c. Quick Oats
1 1/2 tsp. Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
In a large bowl mix together all ingredients .
Beat for 2 minutes.
Pour into a greased 9″ x 13″ pan.
Bake 35-40 minutes at 350°F.
Cool.
Praline Topping:
1/4 c. Butter
2/3 c. Brown Sugar
1/2 c. Coconut
1/2 c. Pecans, chopped
3 Tbsp. Cream or Half & Half
Stir together ingredients.
Spread over top of cooled cake.
Place under oven broiler until bubbly and golden brown.
