1 1/2 c. Dark Brown Sugar
1 Egg
4 c. Flour
1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
1 Tbsp. Cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. Ginger
1 tsp. Cardamom
1/2 tsp. Anise
1/2 tsp. Allspice
1/4 tsp. Salt
In mixing bowl cream together butter, brown sugar and egg until light and fluffy.
Add dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
Divide dough into thirds and wrap each piece in plastic wrap.
Chill at least 2 hours.
On floured board roll dough out one portion at a time or layer between waxed paper and roll to 1/8″ thickness.
Cut with desired cookie cutters.
Place cookies on parchment lined cookie sheets.
Press in any decorations you wish or may be frosted after baking.
Bake 12 minutes at 350°F or until lightly browned.
